First of all, be our FAN and FRIEND on OurStage, MySpace, Facebook, or wherever you want to be! Now let us tell you our story... Each of us come from a different background. However, poverty struck us all violently as we progressed through our adolescent stage. Dodging malevolent forces of sinister evil, we grew into the mightiest Christian band on the face of the planet. Now, we kick it in college, except for Jake that is, just waiting for a chance to make it big. Oh.. and the portion regarding poverty, sinister evil, and the face of the planet... We've broken the ninth commandment. We love you. Now for the real story. Without Cause formed in early August of 2008 as a Christian Rock/Pop band under the original membership of James Bohner (vocals/bass), Will Miller (backup vocals/guitar), and Andrew White (drums). After a brief period of time spent in the Concord Baptist Youth Praise Band of Jefferson City, MO, the three original members assembled under the name of Without Cause, a name suggested by singer James Bohner to convey the eternal and unconditional love of Jesus Christ for His people “without cause.” Bohner, Miller, and White spent approximately two months together as a three-man act before picking up Logan Brunner (keys/piano) in October of 2008. The newly formed four-man group then spent the winter and spring of 2008-09 writing original compositions before picking up pianist Jake Wise in March of 2009. With the new addition of Wise, Brunner shifted his talents to rhythm and acoustic guitar while Wise assumed the role of full-time pianist. Now as a five-piece group, Without Cause began writing some of the first songs in recorded Without Cause history. Throughout the late spring and summer of 2009, they began performing their four original songs: “Save the Hour,” “Inevitability of Invisibility,” “Promises and Broken Hearts,” and the uniquely identifiable and well-known “Mystery Man” whose lyrics have since been used as the theme for several youth retreats and organized youth ministry events in the Midwest. In July of 2009, Without Cause produced their first recording under the name of the “Save the Hour E.P” and began its official distribution at Brandon Spring Group Center near Kentucky Lake, KY. The “Save the Hour E.P.” release party proved to be Brunner’s last performance as a part of Without Cause before leaving the country to participate in a foreign exchange program in Ecuador. Soon after, the four-man group was contacted by Tate Music Group (TMG) and offered a small recording contract in early September of 2009. In November, Without Cause signed their first official recording contract with TMG and began preparing original music for their debut album. Alongside road manager Bill Wise, the group then traveled to Oklahoma City, OK in January of 2010 to record their first full-length album. Without Cause’s debut album “Side by Side” became available for purchase July 9, 2010 at its official release party held at Concord Baptist Church.
