Growing up in Southern California on the menacing streets of Compton, Amar "A-TRIP" Madyun had an instant connection with Hip-Hop music at an early age. While most of his closest friends were involved in gangs or running the streets, A-trip realized early that he had a special gift for rhyming and wordplay. By the age of 9 years old, he had already started recording himself on cassette tapes freestyling over multiple instrumentals. By the age of 13, he had moved to Jacksonville, FL with his mother and brother, and developed a real strong affinity for southern Hip-Hop, while still influenced by all regions and styles. A-trip wrote his first song at the age of 17 and has written, produced, & recorded over 40 songs since then. “A-TRIP” is also an acronym for Always Taking Risks In Production. A-trip has performed in Los Angeles (1996 Grammy Awards with Coolio), Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Miami, and Atlanta while opening up for major artists such as Rick Ross' group Triple C's. A-trip's upcoming mixtape "Trippin Neva Slippin" Is set to become an instant classic and will reshape the way mixtapes and albums are made.
